An historical archive of the year of the great flood.

From Erika:

We’ve had an amazing group of people volunteering in the office — answering phones, greeting guests, organizing, taking care of special projects, maintaining the library and food bank, etc. But what people may NOT know about these incredible people, is that they are actually fundraising money for Jamestown with every hour they work. How? Because volunteer hours actually count as dollars toward our rebuild.

When Joplin, MO was leveled by a tornado, they actually paid $7 million dollars toward their repairs through volunteer hours alone! Although on a smaller scale, we want Jamestown to have a similar story. Here are our current stats as of 3/31/14 (Thanks, Javayne, for putting this together!):

Total Volunteer Hours: 21,073
Total Equipment Value: $310,953.03
Total Cash Value: $795,370.16

(This includes ALL of our volunteers, including office and debris clean-up crews, etc.)

If you want to get in on the fun as an office volunteer, we have a few slots open this next week:

Monday (4/14): 3:00pm-5:00pm
Tuesday (4/15): 8:30am-10:30am, 3:00pm-5:00pm
Wednesday (4/16): 8:30am-12pm
Saturday (4/19): 8:30am-1pm
